What Remains Behind

Commissioned by Joanne Kosheluk and the West Kildonan Collegiate band for Remembrance Day 2023, “What Remains Behind” is a lyrical exploration of grief and loss. This piece features colourful, dissonant chords, moving lyrical melodies, and interesting parts for every member of the ensemble. A perfect piece for ceremonies, festivals, or concerts.

***Added below: a 2025 edit of the piece designed to bring the piece more in line with a grade 2 work. Added are a second trombone part, and some more percussion parts, and some engraving errors are fixed. I recommend this version of the work, and it IS compatible with the original version.
